A Trip to Norway - Day 3 - Sea Day

After an exhausting and eventful day and a half of travel, we have made it onboard and are spending our first full day at sea. (If you haven't already, go check out Day 1)

This is not going to be a deep and reflective type of post. I'm just sharing our experiences as we go.

We've been up since 1:30am local time, because jet lag is a dick. 🫠

I shared Forrest Gump with my son for the first time. He enjoyed it and said he thinks it aged pretty well. Then we got some coffee & breakfast. I won $112 in the casino on my free play offer. We also watched Aliens - my favorite movie.

I explained to him how, in an era of Disney Princesses, Ellen Ripley appealed to me when I was growing up. She was strong and capable and (for the most part) not sexualized.

Now we are back in the room where I have been moving forward on Evelyn Hugo (don't forget to jump into the discussions on Parts 1 & 2 of my Read With Me series).

I'm tired from the travel, and I'm sore from hours of making myself as physically small as possible on planes and buses, but I'm feeling pretty relaxed and my heart rate agrees - clocking in at 65bpm, plus or minus 3 beats. For me, this is pretty unheard of. I usually have a resting heart rate in the mid-70s, and during our travel I was closer to 100bpm (I was a little stressed!!)

I'm looking forward to hitting our first port tomorrow. Check back soon to hear about how it goes, and maybe see some photos!
