Welcome back! This is the final post for our first book together. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
If you aren't at least 300 pages in, please check out a previous post, either 1, 2 or 3, depending on where you are!
If you are interested in picking up a copy, you can still do that here and come back when you're ready to discuss the end of the book.
As a reminder: Ground Rules.
I'm working under the assumption (although it's not a guarantee) that we are all adults here. So I'm expecting that we can act like adults. Differing opinions foster growth (which we encourage and actively pursue here) - but let's make sure that we are sharing these opinions respectfully.
No name-calling, insults, or bullying of any kind.
Secondly, we are all moving at our own paces, so we will be in different places at different times. The goal is for everyone to have the best experience possible as they're reading our selections for the first time. SO - when commenting and participating in discussions:
Please be mindful of spoilers.
If you've moved ahead, please double-check that you aren't revealing anything prematurely.
Finally, we are all human beings, and we make mistakes. We learn best in environments where it's safe to sometimes get it wrong. So if one of us falls short on rules 1 or 2....
Practice Grace with one another.
For our next book, we will be reading Maybe You Should Talk to Someone, by Lori Gottlieb (which you can purchase here if you'd like your purchase to support my page). It's just over 400 pages long, so we'll break that up into 100-page chunks as well.
Now - Let's bring this home!

Question 3:
Celia reveals her diagnosis and prognosis at dinner. What would you have done in Evelyn's position?
Question 2:
In the argument after Max finds the letters, what, if anything, do you think Evelyn owes him? What, if anything, does he owe her?
Question 1:
On page 302, we see Evelyn grappling with feeling she's "passed her expiration date", so to speak. Have you witnessed or experienced this pressure on women? How do you handle it?
